Smoking Cessation

Hope you are well. Just wanted to let you know that I am now a non-smoker (again!) and have been for over a month!!! Hurray!! I feel so much better and am really proud of myself. We had a fab holiday in America, we took Oscar and Isis to Harry Potter Wizarding World at Universal Orlando and then chilled out at Mum and Dads house by the pool. Dave has given up as well, we’re really proud of our achievement and looking forward to the extra cash and not being smelly Mummy and Daddy.

Thank you a million times once again for helping me to change my outlook...I feel great.
Thank you,
Jo

Panic Attacks & Anxiety

I just wanted to say thank you, again.

I went to see Ailsa to get help for my anxiety and panic attacks. I had reached a point where I was avoiding a lot of ‘normal’ everyday activities like driving and going to busy shops, I needed to get some help so I could get on with my life and enjoy it.

The sessions were very professional yet I felt totally at ease and comfortable with Ailsa. She has a very friendly, calm and caring manner.

As well as the hypnotherapy Ailsa also gave me techniques for breathing and being calm, for being in control of my thoughts so I don’t panic, which I will definitely carry on using.

Having worked through pent up emotions, that I didn’t even know I had and memories I had never thought about for years I am now feeling so much better and in control.

I would recommend hypnotherapy with Ailsa to anyone.

I feel so grateful to Ailsa for giving me my life back, which really is what she has done.

Thanks, Danielle O’Gara

Debilitating Anxiety & Depression

It’s five weeks since I last had a session with Ailsa. It’s four months since I went off sick with an anxiety depression.
I have come such a long way since those dark days. When I look at how I am now, as compared to how I felt then, I am quite horrified.
Looking back I suppose things had been going downhill for about 18 months or so. I wasn’t sleeping or eating properly. I’d lost weight, I’d developed itchy, eczema like patches on my skin. I’d been troubled by almost constant indigestion, reflux and alternating constipation and diarrhoea.
I wasn’t coping at work either; feeling constantly overwhelmed, staying late, arriving early, losing my temper at the slightest upset, ending up in tears most days. I just felt like I didn’t have enough time to do anything in or out of work, like I was on full power all the time. I was blaming work and the people there for the state I was in. I interpreted any attempt to help or talk to me about it as criticism and threat. People were giving me a wide berth which, of course, made everything worse.
I’d started being paranoid, thinking everyone was talking about me behind my back and saying that I wasn’t doing my job properly. Thinking that they were ganging up on me, undermining me and excluding me – as I said things were pretty bad. I’m ashamed to say that I have lost friends because of this.
I’d tried herbal relaxants and they helped at first, but then I’d started taking more and more of them – it just wasn’t working. The first time I realised I was in trouble was when I had my first panic attack in the car. I couldn’t remember where the lights, indicators and windscreen wipers were, I turned into the oncoming traffic on the wrong side of a junction and I froze on a roundabout.
Until I actually withdrew from the world I could not see any of this. I was persuaded to go to my Doctor who basically told me that I was suffering from stress and it would take months to heal the damage. She said I would probably never get back to work.
I decided there and then that I was going to beat this; I didn’t like the idea that people were treating it like some sort of guilty secret and speaking about me in hushed whispers. I asked for help from my Occupational Health Department at work but I realised there was nothing there for me; I needed more than just sitting around and wallowing in it.
It was at that point I heard about Ailsa and suddenly the sun came out and I felt like there was Hope. She taught me relaxation techniques and started me working through the ‘Thrive’ programme. I’m not saying it was easy, there were plenty of tears and, at times, almost a physical pain BUT within a couple of weeks things were starting to shift. I started to realise that I had choices; that I could build in survival techniques and get back to being a fully functioning person – and I have.
I’m still doing the meditation and revising the principles of Thrive. I’ve widened my reading around mindfulness and I really am living that life now. I can’t say I don’t have moments when I flap and get panicky but it’s just moments and I know how to talk myself down now. I don’t exaggerate or descend into catastrophe anymore – life is so much more enjoyable. I can laugh at the ridiculousness of what we are expected to clear in a day and I am much more productive and efficient.
I say THANKYOU to Ailsa every single day – she would no doubt be tell me that I did it myself, but I know I could not have moved on without her. I can’t change or make right a lot of what has happened but the lessons are learned. This was a turning point for me; she has quite literally given me back the keys to my life.
I feel like I can do ANYTHING now and I will never cease to be grateful.

Depression

I have to tell you that I have not felt this good for many many years.

My self esteem is high, my confidence is better than ever and I am a happy person with a positive attitude to life.

More importantly for me, reality has kicked in and I now know that what I have is what I have always wanted and each day my grateful list gets longer.

The reason for this is You and the way you helped me to understand myself and with the help of the “Changing Limiting Beliefs” Book detect the things in my life that make me unhappy and change them for the better and for ever.

Thanks to you I NOW HAVE THE TOOLS IN MY BOX TO EMBRACE ALL THAT I HAVE IN LIFE AND GO OUT TO LIVE AND LOVE AGAIN.

You are a star.

Thank you, Chris Bennett

Vaginismus

I saw Ailsa almost 2 years ago in connection with a sexual problem that I had been experiencing for some time. I was suffering from the symptoms of Vaginisimus and it was having a very negative impact on my sex life. After trying all sorts of things to try and help the problem, I came upon Ailsa’s website and thought that hypnotherapy might be worth a go as although this was a physical symptom, it was very much ‘in the mind’. I was nervous about contacting her at first but from the very first phone call I felt greatly reassured that I had just taken a very important step in getting better.

The initial consultation was very informal and relaxed with Ailsa asking questions to understand my problem and the best way to approach my treatment. After this we completed 9 sessions of Analytical therapy and, I’m very pleased to report, got to the bottom of the problem. I can’t describe to you the relief that I experienced and just how liberated I felt following these sessions. A massive weight was lifted and I haven’t looked back since. There has not been any trace of my old symptoms since Ailsa helped me.

I firmly believe that this is the only treatment that could possibly have gotten to the root cause of the problem and hence allowed me to overcome it. Medicine had already tried and failed and counselling simply could not have gained the same results. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ailsa to anybody who feels that they could possibly benefit from hypnotherapy. Ailsa is a person who you can trust, who will treat you with the utmost care and respect and will bear no judgement upon you whatsoever. With her, you can be sure you’re in very safe hands.

Thank you so much.

Social Anxiety & Depression

I’ll start by saying a massive thank you for helping me to get my life back. When I first met you it felt like I couldn’t have sunken any lower. I didn’t want to wake up in the morning, the thought of work or being around people depressed me because I have to pretend to be happy for their sake and overall it was a tiring battle to get through the day.

You made me feel completely at ease, I trusted you from the first time we met and just the fact that you understood me and insisted other people did get social anxiety made me feel so much better and less alone. Over the weeks it was hard to remember my past, sometimes good, but most of the time upsetting because those with the memories I had buried deep down. We brought them to the surface together, you were there for me every week when I would get upset and I’m still amazed to this day that the main reason for my social anxiety came to me on the week you said it would.

Since our last meeting, I have wanted to seize every day and make the most of it. I love being with my family and friends and when I’m faced with a situation that I would have previously found uncomfortable. I use the exercises you taught me about anticipatory anxiety and change my thoughts straight away and most of the time it works. I will continue to do this over the course of my life and hopefully I’ll get better at it.

Once again, thank you for helping me find myself, I could of done with speaking to you 20 years ago, because I carried this problem around with me through primary school, high school, my first job, college, university and even into my flying career. I say to myself, never act or be a certain way just because you believe that other people will frown upon you or think less of you if you don’t. You taught me to love myself again and I’ve got the God given right to be whoever I want to be. If ever in the future I let other people’s perceptions of me get me down, I will come to you. You’re absolutely lovely and I often wonder how you’re doing, I just hope that you are as happy as you have made me feel again.

All my love for Susan

Weight Loss

I would just like to say thanks to your help I lost a stone in weight & and also we was trying for a baby for the last 4 years … I had a miscarriage in 2006 & was trying all different fertility treatments .. I came to you to lose weight & to change my way of thinking about our baby problems as I was getting my self so worked up about everything & my specialist was unsure if I could handle the pressure of IVF

Well good news I had lost a stone in weight & I’m 4 months pregnant! I put this down to the treatment I received from your self as you turn off the panic baby button in my head & changed my focus onto getting healthy & losing weight

I am so appreciative of your help as I feel that one of the main reason why I was not getting pregnant was because of the worry & constant thinking about babies

I can not thanks you enough for the help that you gave me … you changed my life & for this I will always be great full ... thank you

Insomnia

Ailsa, I wanted to leave you a brief note to say thank you again for the past month in which you have helped me gain control along a really important and emotional journey. Your support has been fundamental in eradicating my sleeping problems which has consequently given me my life back. The techniques you have taught me have enabled me to banish old fears of no sleep but most importantly when I change my sleeping patterns and suspect that I am sliding back down that hill towards anxiety I feel I have the power to climb back up again and experience all those lovely feelings of joy and happiness that I thought were lost forever. Thanks to your help I able to remember them and I appreciate very much your support and sincerity. Just knowing that you are there if ever I need to relax and release any emotion is both a comforting and empowering feeling.
Thank you

Chronic Depression, Social Anxiety & Low Self Esteem

For 16 years I had been suffering terribly with Chronic Depression, Low Self Esteem and Social Anxiety.
I had read many books, had different forms of counselling including CBT, Psychotherapy and Psychiatry, offered to me through the NHS. I paid for CBT through The Priory. I had tried many different types of Antidepressants and Mood Stabilisers and ultimately I wasn’t healing. In fact I was getting worse.

A friend of mine recommended Ailsa Wright in September of last year (2014). I have been seeing Ailsa more or less regularly since then and to the astonishment of my Family, Friends, Colleagues and Myself; I am BETTER. Completely BETTER. Ailsa has been totally committed to my recovery with such determination, passion and love. She has given me my life back and there aren’t words to express what that means to me and my family. I now believe that anyone can be healed from the debilitating symptoms of Mental Health. With Ailsa and personal commitment, you’ll never look back.
Thank you Angel. xxx

Self Esteem

I want to tell you how incredibly valuable I have found my sessions with you to be.

I feel that I am finally getting to know myself and the work we have done together has crossed over into every aspect of my life so that I am now living life much more in the present, and have events in my life in perspective.

You provide a warm, cosy and welcoming environment and during each meeting I surprised myself and left feeling positive about my future.

The sessions have been empowering above all else; I now truly believe in the power of my mind! Although my sessions with you have ended for now, I will be continuing on the journey I have begun with your help. Thank you!

I really believe that your skills can help anyone in any situation to help themselves -I would happily recommend you and your services.

Yours truly

Intense Anxiety

When I met Ailsa I was 18 and really struggling with panic attacks and anxiety which was taking over my life and making everyday things like going to work very challenging and socialising was a no no.

The process of getting help and support through the NHS was too slow, I needed help quickly so my mum did some research online to find private support and found Ailsa. After reading through her profile, mum called Ailsa and spoke at length about my challenges.

Mum connected with Ailsa instantly, she totally understood all my challenges and reassured her that it was possible to turn this around and encouraged us to buy the Thrive book and start to read it in advance of meeting her the following week.

Ailsa made it clear that this was a two way process, she didn’t have a magic wand, but with effort and commitment from both of us we would achieve my goal of living my life without panic and anxiety attacks.

Originally I saw Ailsa weekly, she helped me to recognise the first signs of negative thoughts and taught me how to manage them not allowing them to spiral out of control. Ailsa helped me to identify good and positive thoughts which helped me to feel better about myself.

I found hypnosis very helpful, it helped me to feel calm and more positive recognising the progress I was making.

I had the occasional ‘wobble’ in the early days, but Ailsa was always at the end of the phone to reassure me that it was only a ‘blip’ and get me back on track.

I realised from my sessions with Ailsa that I needed to give my mind less time to wander and started to change my lifestyle, taking more excercise, eating healthier and spend time doing the things I enjoy like baking.

Gradually my sessions with Ailsa became less frequent, fortnightly and then monthly, I have a coping mechanism now and am able to recognise negative thoughts at the early stage and turn them into positives.

My life has completely changed for the better in the last 9 months, I am now able to socialise with friends, go to work and do normal things like shopping and eating out with friends, I feel happier, healthier and fitter and don’t suffer from dreadful migraines anymore.

I still see Ailsa every few months, just to keep myself focussed and on the right track. my work with Ailsa has given me my life back and I am so thankful to have her in my life.

Kind Regards
Alice

Abusive Childhood

My story

I am 46 years of age and it has taken me most of these years to get to the happy place that I have now found thanks to the help and therapy I have received from Ailsa.

I have no memory of how or when my childhood was taken from me. The one person who should have been trusted to love and protect me took all of that away.

To this day I still have to work hard to stop the effects of this time taking over my life, after the time I have spent with Ailsa life has changed so much. I am now able to let myself have a life full of love and promise I never thought was possible.

We hear horror stories of children and adults alike being threatened that if they tell a soul they will be punished, loved ones taken away or even murdered !! my childhood taker was the opposite. He did this because “ He LOVED me “ because I was SPECIAL ..... no threat of pain or punishment was ever present.

The effect this had on my life as an adult was boundless. The way I brought my children through their lives was severly effected, my relationships suffered and as a result I have hurt and punished myself along with those who have shared my life along the way.
Over the years I have tried many time with different forms of counselling and therapy to try and come to terms with emotional struggles. Good feelings of love and pleasure were pushed far away.

Ailsa and her therapy, different to any I have previously tried are truly amazing. After the initial chat ( cry ) on the telephone,I travelled quite a distance weekly to have one last attempt at putting myself right. Full of hope and also reservations at first we began............

It has been some time now since I first met this special lady and I will never be able to repay her for the emotional freedom she has given me. Yes there are still days where I struggle but with her help, I have learnt how to get through these times and step forward not backwards as I have always done in the past.

Thank you Ailsa...... I have no idea where I would be this day had I not had the fortune to have found you and along with many others there will not be words enough to thank you for being there and the life changes you have made !!

Smoking Cessation

I had been smoking for 20 years and I am only 34 years old! It has been the last bug bear to solve and I was determined to quit but found that I couldn’t quite do it on my own so.... I contacted Ailsa to see if she could help me and I went for a consultation to determine if I would be able to successfully quit with hypnotherapy.

I had already quit alcohol and changed my life for the better and so Ailsa asked me why was I there to see her if I could achieve all this on my own, well we all know how hard it is to stop smoking otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this.

I had a really comfortable and frank consultation, after which I had my hypotherapy session and since then (2 weeks) I can stay in control still and I have to remind myself sometimes that I haven’t had even a glimmer of a thought of smoking, which is weird but incredibly satisfying.

If i can stop smoking using this method, anyone can.

Thank you Ailsa for helping me to achieve this last bit of freedom in my life.

Self Esteem & Depression

I can`t thank you enough for the help and inspiration you have given me during our course of sessions. You will remember that when I first came to you I was in total despair and thought my world had collapsed. My gradual loss of confidence and low self esteem had resulted in me descending into a depressed state and  I was off work with stress.  At the time I felt highly emotional, scared of everything and everybody, insular and anxious like never before in my life. Added to all this I believed I was a failure and also considered myself sexually inadequate and of little use in my job. In fact I was so terrified at the thought of going back to work I couldn`t even communicate with my employers without having an anxiety attack.

Our sessions have not only restored my confidence and self belief again, but have also dramatically changed the way I think about things and helped me dismiss negative or damaging thoughts. I am back at work, relaxed, confident, and enjoying my life again. I have been smiling and laughing like never before and am still pinching myself at how much I have changed in the last month or so.

I knew from the very first counselling session that this was the right treatment for me, mainly because your professional and caring approach made it easy for me to open up.

I continue to feel better each day and feel incredibly proud of myself for seeing this through. Although it has been a hard and difficult journey, I am comfortable with who I am for the first time in my life. My partner also thinks you are a saint and can`t believe the difference in me.

Keep up the great work and I hope people reading this will be encouraged to get in touch with you, as it is without doubt the most life changing experience I have been through.

Take care and thanks again.

Depression & Anxiety

“Ailsa has changed my life I arrived back in January in despair. Years of anxiety and depression ranging from months of mild symptoms to months of severe symptoms had taken its toll on my and my famillies life. On the suggestion of my wife we looked at hypnotherapy as a possible solution. I looked at a number of websites but East Cheshire Hypnotherapy connected to me after reading the reviews. What Ailsa has done through hypnotherapy other exercises and plain old fashioned talking has show me why and how we get into this mindset and that we (and only we) can change it and literally change our lives. Don’t be sceptical give it a go it could just change your life. It’s not easy and is an ongoing process but it is so worth it.”

Anger Issues

I have just come to the end of a nine week treatment programme with you and feel like a weight has been lifted form my shoulders.
My wife and I were looking at several options as my moods and tempers were starting to get out of control, something needed to be done. Having looked at a number of possibilities we decided on Ailsa. There was no pressure to sign up and she explained in detail what the course would entail. Over the weeks we went back through my subconscious to touch on issues in my past. There were highs and lows but throughout the process Ailsa reassured me and helped me overcome any hurdles. By about the fourth week my wife had started to notice a significant difference and I was a lot more relaxed within my home life.
The course has really helped me feel a lot more positive about life now and I look forward to making my daughter have a happy childhood rather than reflecting back on mine. I’m just glad I didn’t stop my male pride stop me from attending.

Thanks for all your help, Neil

Anxiety

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say “thank you!”. Our recent sessions together have significantly changed how I think about things and how I approach work in particular. I now realise how poorly I had been previously managing my thinking and how this had caused me unnecessary and unfounded anxiety. My confidence in my own abilities and judgement has improved significantly as a result.

I would strongly reecommend that anyone who feels that anxiety is taking up too much of their time to get in touch with you and make a positive step towards changing their life.

Thanks again & take care.

Mike

M.E

Just a note to say thank you so much for everything you have done and taught me over the past months. When I was diagnosed with M.E I thought there was no end and that I would be ill forever. The day I decided to see you was the best day of my life, because I am now getting better and stronger every day. You gave me hope that I would have a future, and that I deserved to have a future, and most of all you believed in me. I hated myself, and I felt I had failed at life by becoming ill. But now I feel completely different. You have taught me so much and it has given me such an insight of how I am as a person. And now for the first time in my life I am excited about the future.

When I first came to you I had a huge problem with Panic and anxiety, and I was having panic attacks about pretty much everything. I now after a few months of your help have reversed it, and I now no longer suffer from Panic attacks using the processes you taught me, I have learnt to control it now and it is no longer a problem. I also was very depressed when I first saw you, and I can now say I am a much happy person.

Another big problem I had was I felt completely powerless and had no control of my life. Before getting M.E I was so independent, and then getting ill sent me in the opposite direction and I lost all control. With your help and guidance I now have control of my life again.

You have also taught me the power of negative thinking, looking back all my thoughts were negative, and “everything” was bad and “nothing” was good, and I was trapped in a horrible negative cycle.
Learning to delete those thoughts, and replace them with good thoughts, has changed my life dramatically.
Another huge lesson I have learnt is to be in the “present” I lived my life worrying about what was going to happen in 10 minutes or a weeks time, instead of actually sitting and enjoying the present moment.

I have learnt to deal with my symptoms better as well, instead of lying in bed and dwelling on all the bad things and what pain I had etc, I changed my thoughts to positive and happy ones.

Another problem I had was with fear and being scared about the future, after having to leave college because of becoming ill, I became bedbound and reliant on my parents for caring for me. After being in this situation for months I could not see an end. I was very scared about the future, as I felt I had been taken out of the world as I was no longer able to go out, apart from to appointments. Its been a huge fear thinking about recovering as I would have to go back to life having missed out on college, and I had no clue where I would start again. I had high expectations of myself as well which didn’t help.
Due to the M.E I also had a lot of confusion and couldn’t think clearly so everything was harder for me to work out, but with your help I have got there, and every week I have knocked down a little bit more of that big wall that was blocking me from health and my future. I am now so excited about the future, and I believe in myself now and I am happy with who I am.

I always dwelled on my past, and blamed myself for getting ill, and always thought “oh if I’d done that differently maybe this wouldn’t have happened.”
Being in that frame of mind I was making myself more ill. You made me realise I can’t change my past, its already happened, and to get on with what was happening now. I have sorted out all the issues I had from the past, and closed that chapter of my life. I am content and happy with myself now and have accepted what’s happened and I have moved on thanks to you.

You have been so supportive, and I will never be able to thank you enough for the help you have given me. Even the weeks I felt I had taken a step back, you reassured me and got me back on track. Also knowing that you were there for me whenever I needed you, helped me to keep going forward and make progress. Also your trust and having the ability to be honest with each other, and openly discuss everything, I had to be honest with myself and admit my faults and fears, doing this was very hard, but with your help and support I got through this and came out the other side, as a better stronger person. I am now starting my future, and getting better everyday.

Thank you so much Ailsa.

Childhood Issues

“I had been harbouring issues in my mind from childhood that started to have a significant affect on my adult life. I discovered Ailsa knowing I must do something to purge the demons that were making life very difficult. At the commencement of my treatment I have to admit some scepticism but the therapy Ailsa treated me with had the most profound effect after several weeks. I was able to meet these issues under hynosis head on. To the point now that I understand what was happening and have been able to put these problems back away again but they no longer affect me. Ailsa is absolutely marvellous and is the most undertanding person I have ever met. My life is all the better for having met and been treated by Ailsa Wright”

Self-Esteem

I thought I would wait a couple of weeks before writing this so I could see what would happen and how I would feel.

I’m really pleased to report that I am continuing to feel good about myself.  The innate feeling of what I can only describe worthlessness and low self-esteem which I had been living with for so long has now gone and I’m gaining in confidence that it has gone for good.

Going through the process was an amazing experience and it has left me with a lot to build on and develop on a personal basis.  I’m finding myself to be really quite excited about the future and more able to take on what challenges will come this year rather than be scared of them.  Life is pretty good just now!

Hope this finds you well.

Love
Janice

Driving test

I came to see you to help with my driving test nerves. My first test did not go so well. I was very scared and nervous and ended up failing, which lowered my confidence and made me feel I was never going to pass. I was also suffering from chest pains, which I get when I feel stressed. My Dad suggested I should maybe go for some hypnotherapy, as he was concerned about my lack of confidence.

I came to see you thinking it was rubbish and wasn’t really taking it very seriously. After I settled down and you put me at my ease, I realized that I was actually beginning to feel really relaxed and calm, so, I decided to go along with it. It was amazing. It was a totally new experience for me. I came away feeling really positive, calm and relaxed, my chest pains disappeared and somehow I knew I was going to pass my test. Guess what, I passed

I highly recommend anyone who is suffering from nerves to go and see Ailsa. I will be seeing her again in a couple of months to help me with my Degree exams.

Thanks Ailsa,
Dawn.

Flying Phobia

Thank you so much for the dream technique. I have been practising it and find it interesting the way it rewires the brain. Sorry it’s taken a while for my reply, and hope this little testimony will do !

I went to see Ailsa after my fear of flying got so bad I had to cancel a flight to my favourite place, Paris. Just a few days before we were due to go i said to my husband I cannot get on that plane I’m sorry! We lost the flight money and I had to pay to get there on the Eurostar it was not cheap. Then I knew I had to do something, so I had hypnotherapy with Ailsa, and it was the best thing ever. Now I feel really calm about flying and the anxiety just is not an issue. Ailsa is a very intuitive person and extremely professional in her work I would not hesitate to recommend her to my family and friends.

IBS

I came to Ailsa with what I cant only describe as the lowest part of my life feeling trapped in my house in fear of not being near a toilet! It had got so bad I even had to leave work so after long periods of trying different tablets and other medical advice nothing seemed to be happening, I came across Ailsa at east Cheshire hypnotherapy and im very glad I did as with her help and four sessions doing the programme shes runs has totally changed my life!! I am now a professional hgv driver!! (Some what seemed impossible to even think about before!) I spend quality time socialising away from home with my 5 month old son, family and friends, I have a new lease on life!! I can not thank this lovely lady enough for what she has done for me and I would urge other sufferers to just give this a thought, It can change your life!! Thank you Ailsa.

Nail Biting

Ailsa,

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you with an update.

I have not bitten my nails since seeing you. They are growing well and my finger look normal now.

Many thanks for your help.

Mike

Nail Biting

I came to see you back in January for you to help me stop nibbling at my nails. I thought I’d leave it a while to make sure that its done the job and it has. Thank you very much. My nail varnish collection has grown slightly (I never used to buy any as I always knew I’d bite them again!!!)

Thanks again, Kim

Anxiety

So, I thought I’d just drop you that note I said I would to let you know how things are going. Everything is fandabidozo. I’m still feeling good and completely on top of my game. Situations that once would have caused me a problem are now not – it’s like I’ve been re-set and this time round I have no pre-conceived ideas around what I should or shouldn’t do. I’m just doing everything that I want to do how I want to do it!

And yes before you ask.... I’m still doing the DREAM technique, it’s instilled into me like anxiety once was.

I really am feeling like a different person. It’s as if blockers have been lifted and the ironic thing is it was me who put those blockers there in the first place?! Our minds are both a strange and wonderful thing hey?!

I’ve attached a bit of a write up for you, it’s long but there was lots to say! Feel free to share it with others. I think I’m going to be just fine but should any anxieties start rearing their ugly head again I’ll give you a call (on the telephone because telephones don’t scare me anymore).

Wishing you all the best Ailsa – you’ve been great and I truly hope you help many more people to come.

Lots of love

Blushing

A big thank you to you Ailsa, for your help over the last few months. with my blushing.
I have been blushing since my early teens, and have found it to be increasingly upsetting as I have gotten older.
Believing that it should have been something I had grown out of years ago, it has continued to reduce my confidence and self esteem and made social situations more difficult.
Ailsa has provided me with an understanding of how I can gain back control over my blushing, how I can control my own thoughts and feelings and work to lessen the stress associated with my blushing. I am now better at looking at the positives, and talking to myself in a kinder more gentle way. Basically learning to not be so hard on myself.
I felt that you truly cared about the issues I came to you with, and that you genuinely wanted to help. You a wonderful person, thank you Ailsa!

Depression

Following a prolonged period of intense study, busy family life and a demanding job I found myself suffering with depression. I knew I had to take action as I was going down hill fast.
I contacted Ailas and we quickly agreed an appointment.
After seeing Ailsa for only a short period of time, I had learned where I was going wrong and the depression lifted. We continued to work together to cement in my new found healthy thinking styles.
That part of my life is now firmly behind me and I continue to grow in both happiness and confidence using the techniques and knowledge gained with Ailsa.
I would recommend her services and skills to anyone going through difficult times.

Vaginismus

I first got in touch with Ailsa regarding a very private issue. Having been with my now husband for 7 years we had never managed to have full intercourse. We had tried everything and then we came across hynotherapy but more importantly Ailsa and pure hypnotherapy. I was a bit unsure to start with, it was not something that I thought would work but we had tried everything else so why not.

After my first visit to Ailsa - the free consultation I felt totally at ease and comfy talking to Ailsa. The whole experience, the drive up there, sitting in the cosy shed and talking and listening with Ailsa was relaxing and enjoyable - and to both of our suprises I was ‘fixed’ within around 7 sessions!!! I felt so happy and complete I had no idea it was going to make such a difference to my life.
The first few weeks after finishing the sesssions with Ailsa felt strange like I was forgetting to do something, like I was missing out, but now I occassionally if needed do some of the relaxation she taught me and it really helps.
Ailsa taught me so much and has changed my life so very much - thank you. x K x

Smoking

I contacted Ailsa for help with stopping smoking and am so glad I did. Ailsa explained, in detail, what would be happening in the session and I felt extremely safe and relaxed before and after the hypnotherapy. I am writing this after 5 days since my session and can honestly say that I have not thought about smoking at all. I feel really great! No increase in appetite, no bad temper or anxiety. I would highly recommend this therapy to anyone wanting to stop smoking.

Social Anxiety

“I had been considering hypnotherapy for a while and I am very pleased I decided to go for it and especially to contact Ailsa. I chose her because I found her website very informative, yet simple and appealing. I was very pleased on my first meeting to meet Ailsa with her very friendly and open approach while at the same time being very professional and honest. Throughout my sessions she listened to me, explained and tried different treatment options. During the treatment I found it very easy to relax and to be comfortable to discuss anything. Hypnotherapy has certainly helped me a lot in the short term, has taught me things/behaviors I can use in the future and I given me a very positive and confident outlook. A great part to this I feel has been Ailsa herself and I am very thankful to her.

Depression

At a point where I was desperate and felt totally out of control, I
made probably one of the most important decissions in my life. I rang
Ailsa.

Having been in and out of depression over the last eight years, had
anti-depressants at various points and even anger management therapy
at the Priory, hitting my 65 year old father and trying to thow my
wife out of the house after drinking too much was the final straw. I
had taken my anger out on those that I loved and was about to loose
everything.

I needed to do something different if my family and I were to survive
this and I found East Cheshire Hypnotherapy’s web site.

Nervously, I rang Ailsa, but she was friendly and professional and we
booked a consultation to discuss the process and me in more detail.

We started the therapy the next week.

Having always bottled up my emotions sharing them with Ailsa was no
mean task and opening up to myself, let alone Ailsa was something that
I was convinced would not happen. However, over the weeks I became
more relaxed, went deeper under hypnosis and more importantly built up
a trust with Ailsa. She was not judgemental, not critical but just
aided in a process of self discovery.

So how did Ailsa help me help myself in the end?

I had been angry in the latter years of my childhood after my parents
split up, but as I grew up and matured this anger dissapated. However,
problems at the birth of my first child left me feeling helpless with
situations out of my control. This and the pressures of a new addition
to the family and also conflicts at work sent me on the spiral into
depression which I rollercoasted for the last 8 years, never really
finishing the ride.

We found, when looking back on my life under hypnosis, key moments
where re-occuring feelings and emotions of helplessness and anger had
occurred. Eventually we found the first time I’d felt like this: after
witnessing a major argument between my mother and father as a child.
Recognising this simple event and looking back with an adult mind at
the emotions I was feeling has changed my life.

I am now more confident, know what I want from life and a now feel
able to get on with it. I have stopped blaming others for my anger and
it is now as if that part of me has gone. I feel human again and the
only challenge seems to be getting my wife to believe that I am again
the carefree confident person she married
Hope you have found another awkward bugger to challenge your skills in
my absence.

 Matt.

Anxiety

I am so impressed with the way that Ailsa has helped me to tackle and gradually overcome a lifelong anxiety problem. I knew as soon as I met her that I would be comfortable and happy to share my thoughts and feelings and felt I could trust her to help me on a journey to what I hope will be a long lasting recovery.

Ailsa has a lovely laid back style and a great sense of humour, which really put me at ease. She is also a gifted therapist who made me feel safe and supported as we explored some long hidden memories.

Although I’m delighted to be feeling so much better, I will really miss our sessions. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
